Notes

Tips for the Best Holiday Margarita

Use freshly squeezed citrus juice for the brightest flavor. Bottled juice can dull the festive taste. Choose a good-quality tequila since it’s the star of the drink. Reposado tequila adds subtle warmth that pairs beautifully with the spices. If you like a stronger spice profile, lightly toast the cinnamon before adding it to the shaker.

Variations and Substitutions

For a spicy kick, add a thin slice of jalapeno to the shaker. To make it sweeter, substitute maple syrup for simple syrup. If you prefer a smoky twist, use mezcal instead of tequila. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with sparkling water and extra orange juice for a festive mocktail.
