Notes

Tips for the Best Blue Hawaiian

Use chilled pineapple juice for a smoother, more refreshing drink. If you prefer a less sweet cocktail, use fresh pineapple juice instead of canned. Shake thoroughly to fully combine the coconut rum and pineapple juice, which helps prevent separation. Serve in a clear glass to show off the vibrant blue color, especially if you’re serving guests.

Variations and Substitutions

For a non-alcoholic Blue Hawaiian, replace the rums with coconut water or cream of coconut and add a splash of lemon-lime soda.
For a creamier version, add 1 oz of cream of coconut.
For a stronger cocktail, increase the light rum slightly while keeping the ratios balanced.
If you don’t have blue curaçao, blue raspberry syrup can work for color, though the flavor will differ slightly.
